| Why do you use Notion as your online learning platform/learning management system? | Notion is an application that helps organize the content and there are many templates and tools available for creators and users alike. It is easily adaptable to the needs of the user, and has a mobile application you can use on your mobile devices. It is also available in a free version that provides many functions, unlike other page creation providers. This means that we can minimize cost of course content creation so that we do not have to transfer these costs to you, enabling us to charge less for our courses, and, as such, making it much more affordable for learners. This is an innovative method to ensure accessibility without impacting the quality of the learning experience. |
| How do I use Notion or any of the other learning tools? | To learn more about Notion and how you can use it for your learning experience or for personal organizational tool, visit their website at https://notion.com/help. | How do I attend office hours? | You can email our instructor to request a time and meet with the instructor. Alternately, you can simply join the regular open office hours on the schedule. Please note that the instructor will wait 15 mins from the start of the hour, and if there is no one attending, she would close the office hour for the day. Check the Office Hours link for the current available office hours. |
| Are office hours recorded? | The office hours are recorded and you can review them from the links on our Office Hours page. |
| Do I need to turn in my assignments? | Although your assignments are not graded, you are highly encouraged to complete them and hand them in so that you can practice the knowledge and skills learned, as well as receive feedback from our instructor to support you in your personal growth. |
| How long should I spend on the course each day? | Unless the courses are live webinars, you can spend as much time as you need, from 15 mins to an hour or more, depending on your availability. The length of live webinars will be stated on the description for the course. For webinars, we encourage you to dedicate your time for the whole course so you can optimize your learning. |
| Can I speak with other students while working through the materials? | Yes, of course! We encourage collaborative learning in a community. There is so much to learn from your peers, just as you would from our instructor. We value it so much that we have created a learning community site through Microsoft Teams and you can access it from your learning portal. |
| When does the course begin? | Self paced courses start once we email the enrollment confirmation to you and send you a link to the course. For Live webinars, it starts right on the dot of the start time, although the instructor would be available 5 minutes prior to start to prepare the online video call platform for all attendees. |
| How long do I have access to the course for? | For free and promotional courses, you have access for unlimited time. For paid courses, you have access to the course for 6 months from the start date of enrollment. This is to motivate you to complete the course, and to help us organize our learning management system that is adapted from Notion templates, which we have used to minimize cost to learners. For our paid courses, we try our best to make sure you have access to download the material as much as possible, so that you can still review them when needed after your access to the course is expired. |
